Recently, DIY cluster lashes have been gaining popularity in the world of beauty products. These false lash clusters are applied underneath the natural lashes, which simplifies the entire application process. Due to the fact that my natural eyelashes are short and sparse, I decided to see if an at-home eyelash extension kit would really live up to the manufacturers’ promises. I also decided to compare how the products of the leading brands in this category differ.
DIY cluster lashes – fast and effective lash extensions
Before I share the results of my tests and reveal which lash extension kit has become my favorite, let me explain why I chose this method.
I can’t boast thick natural eyelashes, so I’ve tested many ordinary cluster lashes. Despite my experience, I could never manage to apply them well, which also was time-consuming. That’s why I decided to try out DIY lash kits such as the Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit, Intro Starter Kit from Lilac St, and the Falscara Starter Kit from KISS.
DIY cluster eyelashes allow you to create spectacular makeup look in a short amount of time. I noticed that a lot depends on the brand. The best kits allow you to style your lashes in just 10 minutes, even with no prior experience! See for yourself how easy it is. I’ve already done it, and I know that lash extensions have never been so easy.
Lash extension kit ranking – my selection
In order to assess whether DIY cluster lashes are worth considering, I tested six products. All of them came from renowned brands, which should guarantee high-quality lash clusters. The user reviews were promising, but was it really the case? Not always.
1. Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extension Starter Kit
I first tested the Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit. I am familiar with the brand, so I was looking forward to trying it out. The package arrived very quickly.
Inside the Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit, I found 36 cluster lashes in three lengths (10, 12, and 14 mm), a bonder, a sealer, a remover, and an applicator. The lashes are available in eight styles, allowing you to choose from subtle to very expressive effects. I chose the HEARTBREAKER style, which highlighted my look beautifully. The eyelashes lasted for a week, as I cared for them properly.
The cluster lashes in the Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit come in a variety of lengths and styles, making them adaptable to any occasion and beauty type. The application is extremely easy thanks to the included applicator, which enables precision when applying the lashes. The bonder and sealer make the application durable, while the remover enables removing the lashes easily and safely without damaging the natural ones.
I found the application process to be quick and effective, which surprised me positively. I expected it to take longer, but the whole process took only about 8 minutes. Once applied, the lashes looked natural and emphasized my eyes beautifully, adding depth and definition. The daily maintenance of the eyelashes was simple and effortless, which adds to the benefits of this kit.
The Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit is ideal for both beginners and those who already have experience with lash extensions. With a variety of lash styles, you can create both subtle and more dramatic looks. The durability of the lashes was impressive, and their appearance remained intact throughout the week.
Using the Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit was extremely satisfying. The application was simple and quick, and the final result exceeded my expectations. The lashes looked natural and elegant, which made me feel more confident. I would recommend this kit to anyone looking for an effective and easy-to-use solution for at-home lash extensions.
2. Tatti Lashes Invisi-Lash Kit
After a positive experience with the Nanolash kit, I decided to test another product. This time, I chose Tatti Lashes and their Invisi-Lash Kit for DIY eyelash extensions. In this kit, you can choose from seven styles of cluster lashes, and I opted for Haute Couture.
Tatti’s lashes are available on a black or clear strip. I chose the black version. The kit also comes with Invisi-Lash Bond, Seal Glue, a small brush, and an applicator.
I didn’t encounter any major problems during application. The lashes looked great and lasted well. One kit was enough for seven applications. While this may seem like a lot to some, I expected longer use. Unfortunately, the Invisi-Lash Kit did not include a remover, which forced me to treat the lashes as disposable.
3. Lilac St Intro Starter Kit
Next in line to test was the lash extension kit from Lilac St. The Intro Starter Kit contains 30 lash clusters in three sizes: 10, 12, and 14 mm, just like the professional Nanolash kit.
The kit includes: Lilac Lash Glue in Clear, Lilac Lash Applicator, and Crystal Coat.
Upon opening the package, I was pleasantly surprised. The lashes were soft, lightweight, came on with a thin black strip. Unfortunately, the application took longer than the previous sets, about 15 minutes.
On the manufacturer’s website I found information that you could sleep in them, which I can confirm – the clusters lasted on my lashes for 5 days. I bought them on a special offer, so I was satisfied, but at the regular price, I might have felt I overpaid.
4. KISS Falscara Starter Kit
Another lash extension kit put to the test was the Falscara Starter Kit by KISS.
Compared to the Nanolash and Lilac St kits, this one contains only 10 cluster lashes, which is enough for a single application, as I use 4 to 5 clusters per eye.
The kit includes: BOND, SEAL, and an applicator. There is no remover and no overnight lash protector, which makes it difficult to care for the lashes. Although that disappointed me, the application was easy and the final result was really satisfying.
5. Glamnetic Lash Extension Kit
The next kit I tested was the Glamnetic Lash Extension Kit. The lashes from this kit were supposed to last up to 5 days. I cared for them daily, avoiding sticking and rubbing the eyes, so that after applying them on Thursday, I took them off on Monday. This was possible thanks to the remover and sealer included in the kit, just like in the case of the Nanolash kit.
The kit includes different styles of cluster lashes, Bonder, and an applicator. I value a natural look, so I was a little disappointed that the clusters did not look like a premium product. The effect was not natural, which made me feel uncomfortable.
6 Lashify Starter Kit
Finally, I decided to test the DIY lashes from Lashify. Due to their higher price, I expected top quality. After opening the package, I noticed that the cluster lashes looked very good and were soft, which made them resemble real lashes.
The application was quick, and the clusters lasted on my lashes for 5 days. Unfortunately, the set contains only 10 lash clusters, which, despite their high quality, means that I would not choose to use this product again.
DIY cluster eyelashes – they’re a hit for me! Which ones did I choose?
Each of the lash extension kits I tested produced satisfactory results, although some had more disadvantages than advantages. Of all the products I tested, the Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit proved to be my favorite. The products included in this kit feature high quality, and its price is very competitive, especially compared to Lashify.
I hope you will also decide to try DIY lash extensions, as I currently find it the most convenient solution. I leave the choice of a specific kit to you.
