Hi Girls,
In today’s post you’re going to read about the art of blending eyeshadows. As you know, eye make-up is very important to every woman. Thanks to it, you can change your look in a flash, transfer from daily make-up into the evening one, either enlarge your eyes optically or make them smaller. Let’s start!
You don’t use any primer
To help eyeshadows sit on your eyelids long, first you have to apply some base product. You can choose among a regular eyeshadow keeper, or reach either for a concealer or a makeup foundation. Another crucial point to mention is applying powder to skin. What do we gain thanks to using such products? Simply, they help eyeshadows, an eyeliner and an eye pencil remain perfect on our eyelids. Additionally, they smooth skin’s surface, even skin tone and cover imperfections (small veins, smudges and freckles). How to use base cosmetics? Simply apply a thin layer onto the eyelid and pat the cosmetic. After approximately a minute you can proceed with putting on eye makeup.
You apply too much of a product
More eyeshadow doesn’t mean easier blending nor prettier eye makeup. The truth is, if you apply too much of the cosmetic, a blob appears around eyes as the residues of the eyeshadows dust the cheeks. So what should be done? Gather a small amount of the eyeshadows on the brush and then use gentle motions to apply it to the eyelids. It’s better to use many delicate brush strokes than a few stronger ones. In other words, try to put the brush into delicate swaying motions so as to distribute the eyeshadows evenly. Besides, if you keep using the brush vigorously, this may hurt you, irritate your eyes and eyelids.
You keep using improper brushes
Poorly-chosen brush is yet another mistake that many girls make. The best accessories used to blend eyeshadows are the ones made of high quality materials. After all, we want them to serve us long and, what is even more important, don’t irritate our delicate skin around eyes. The basic eye makeup brush set should contain:
- a fluffy, yet slightly flattered brush that adjusts its shape to every eyelid shape;
- a round and fluffy crease brush which is helpful at doing the eye makeup;
- a thin and outspread brush which is perfect for delicate eyeshadow blending;
- a round brush to blend eyeshadows applied to the lower eyelid;
- a dense and big brush that helps with creating smooth gradient of colours on the eyelids.
You blend eyeshadows incorrectly
Remember: if you want to obtain the perfect eye makeup, cover your inner corner of the eye with a bright eye shadow, in the middle apply a little bit darker one and the darkest one has to be applied to the outer corner of the eyes. Start blending the shadows from the inner corner of the eyes and mix the colours heading the opposite direction. Again, use more gentle motions than a few stronger ones.
